Finally some nice cool weather. It was so humid this weekend. Not sure what’s up for this week. Saturday we will be in Deep River instead of Renfrew. They have organized a special Farmers’ Market day and hope to see our Deep River customers. Ella wants me to make an apple pie. If the weather stays cool I might, I also have a turnover recipe that I want to try. Pastry takes a hot oven, so I don’t do so much in the summer. Now that the good weather is back I can get back to baking.

When I worked at the Tea Room, the old ladies were always telling me that drinking hot tea on a hot day makes you cooler. I just can’t see it. I’m loving the cool air today. My lungs just can’t take the humidity.
The Bavarian beef pie is yummy and I like that it’s a smaller recipe. We don’t have to eat meat pie all week. 🙂
