This week’s Yarn Along finds me still working on the never-ending sleeves for Grandma’s February Lady Sweater. I really wish this sweater would get finished. I’ve been commissioned to make another for a friend and would like to make at least one project in between sweaters.
I have a new book to share this week. I got some money from my in-laws for my birthday and have been waiting to spend it. I ordered Folk Socks and a circular knitting book. I’m returning the circular book because it was too basic (that means I get to order another one). There is some great information in the Folk Sock book and some pretty patterns too.
Hopefully next week I’ll have a new project to share.
That book looks delightful. I will have to look it up. I am still hoping to get some socks knit up for Christmas (even though I haven’t started a thing yet)
Sounds good to me- it is always nice to get knitting books 🙂 I have several on my wishlist! Your sweater looks lovely!
I haven’t started my Feb sweater yet. Just think of that, you are far ahead of me! I just finished socks for little R and have my Yo-yo pillow top to finish first. I have the yarn though! That book looks interesting. I just ordered a ton of sock wool from Hershenners which was between $2.99-$4.99 for 100 gram skiens of real wool. A blow out sale.
Do you find their shipping reasonable? The yarn there is beautiful.
Yea the shipping is cheaper then me driving to the city. However I payed by cheque using snail mail. the check was cashed last Thursday, I mailed it after Victoria day and the wool still has not arrived. I think it is coming from the states. You have to look at their website for the good deals, as the catalogue that comes in the post doesn’t have the best deals. Still they are cheaper then Micheals for items like Astra. Mom bought some Herrsheners afghan weight yarn and it was too thin. Stay away from it. The worsted weight is okay.
I hope you have fun at the Pioneer Village. I have to take R & little A to Lang Village this summer. they can wear their smocked sunbonnets and dresses and feel part of the pioneer spirit.
