Colin and I ran away for the weekend! Colin gave me a weekend away at our friends’ B&B for Christmas so we decided to go before he got busy with seed cleaning. Carol had a surprise in the kitchen when we arrived:
This little girl is just a couple of days old. Carol wasn’t sure she would survive. The wee thing needed lots of attention.
As you can see, she’s just about the size of Carol’s Pomeranian. She was so lovey and would snuggle into my hand. Colin said he was going to check my pockets before we came home.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to the ‘hills’ without a picture from the Tavern.
Perogie and cabbage rolls! Colin really likes their burger too.
Now we’re back home, it’s -24C (plus windchill) and everything is back to normal. So what’s cooking this week?
Monday:
comfort meatballs -Pioneer Woman
Tuesday:
Wednesday:
hamburgers or leftover meatballs
Thursday:
leftover pork
Friday: Ella’s 13th birthday -WHAT!!!
tacos
Saturday:
Sunday: hopefully church in Ottawa
hot chicken

My younger daughter would have been in heaven! she has been hanging around the farm at school — we are suburban, but two of the high schools in our city have agricultural programs — as there are three new kids, real charmers, I hear!
